Persistent Review & Reflection
coLearn-AI is designed to support collaborative, in-class learning while preserving everything students and instructors do for later review.
1. Content Creation (Creator Role)
Activities are authored once using a structured format in Google Docs.
These activities are independent of any specific class or semester and can be reused across courses and terms.
Creators focus on:
- clinical cases
- guided reasoning prompts
- structured questions and group tasks
Once created, activities are stored in a shared course library.
2. Course and Class Setup (Instructor Role)
An instructor creates a class, which generates a Class ID.
The instructor then selects which activities from the course library will be used in that class.
This separation allows:
- the same content to be reused by multiple instructors
- instructors to control pacing and classroom execution independently of authoring
3. Student Enrollment
Students create an account once and join a class using the Class ID provided by the instructor.
No manual roster management is required.
4. Live Class Session
During class, the instructor:
- opens the class session
- selects a collaborative activity
- forms student groups from those currently attending
Students enter the activity directly into their assigned group workspace.
5. Collaborative Group Work
Students work together inside coLearn-AI:
- responding to prompts
- discussing reasoning
- submitting shared answers
The instructor monitors progress in real time through a live dashboard, without interrupting group work.
6. Persistent Review & Reflection
After class ends, the activity remains available.
- Students can return at any time to review:
- group answers
- feedback
- clinical reasoning pathways
- Instructors can review:
- group progress
- patterns of misunderstanding
- examples for follow-up discussion or remediation
Nothing is lost when the class session ends — collaborative work becomes a durable learning artifact.
